Incurable infection of the respiratory system? Very odd for a vet to say that ... What's the story?

The cat must be put on antibiotics, at least - I think we need him to be removed in any case to another veterinarian as soon as possible. Are you sure that the vet did not say that the infection was secondary to leukemia? Leukemia is incurable infection of the respiratory tract, but should manage the situation.
